Pensioners face higher travel costs

by isleofman.com 27th March 2015

Cuts made to pensioner bus and rail travel rates will be introduced on Monday (March 30).

Over-60s will no longer enjoy free train journeys and will have to pay half-fares on bus services between 4pm and 5.30pm on weekdays.

A further change has also been made to allow accompanied under-5s free bus and rail travel.

Kate Beecroft - the MHK responsible for public transport - says the cuts will help the government achieve its budget targets.
