A jury will hear more from a man accused of murder in a trial at Douglas Courthouse today.

Forty-six-year-old Ian Anderson denies murdering 60-year-old Ballabeg man Neil Roberts.

Mr Roberts's body was found by police at Mr and Mrs Anderson's Castletown home in late 2013.

Yesterday the court heard defence advocate Dawn Jones question Mr Anderson.

The jury heard Mr Anderson talk about his upbringing, education and career.

He described a difficult relationship with his father and recalled him hitting him with a belt at seven or eight years old.

Mr Anderson also said that when he first met Mr Roberts he reminded him of his father.

Mrs Jones asked him about the intimate relationship between Mrs Anderson and Mr Roberts.

Mr Anderson said his wife consistently denied an affair and discussed a rollercoast marriage in 2013.

The court also heard that Mr Roberts owed Mr Anderson more than ?7,000 for work he'd done at the beginning of 2013 and which he never recieved.

The trial continues this morning at 10 o'clock.
