Well that was some party at the club on Saturday – 60 accepted our invite to have a Birthday drink for my 80th  and it was lovely to see so many people with long associations with Island tennis – not just from Albany but all island. The lovely outcome is that donations instead of gifts has raised ?160 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, ?150 for Friends of Robert Owen House and ?190 for the Children of Chernobyl charities. Thank you very much to everyone who donated or who gave me gifts anyway. I enjoyed the evening and was shocked to receive the signed framed Watford F C shirt from the football club’s sponsors 138.com, which I will treasure. All in all a good night, with friendships renewed and financial support for charity.
