Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says last-minute talks over a contract to administer driving licenses means the Post Office will keep the lucrative work.
A written answer to a House of Keys question this week seemed to say his department would save more than ?300,000 by doing the job itself.
But Mr Gawne says a meeting with the Post Office has now resolved issues about price, and so will continue to provide the services.
