Isle of Man Live at Home Scheme needs your votes!

by isleofman.com 25th March 2015
The Isle of Man Live at Home Scheme is campaigning for votes from the local public after being nominated to win a ?2,000 cash prize by Magnet Trade’s Isle of Man store, as part of the kitchen and joinery manufacturer’s ‘Community Champions’ campaign.

You can support your local Community Champion by visiting magnettrade.co.uk/branch/isle-of-man and voting between 1-31 March.

A total of 169 charities, each representing a local Magnet Trade store, have been nominated nationwide. A pot of ?10,000 will be split regionally between the ten most voted for causes, and an additional ?1,000 awarded to the public’s overall favourite.

Builder, baker (…not candlestick maker!) and Bake Off star, Richard Burr, is the face of the campaign, so the overall winner can also look forward to a visit from him bearing a very special Community Champions cake!

Richard Burr commented: “I’ve been a customer at Magnet Trade for quite some time, so it’s great to be supporting this worthwhile campaign which rewards unsung community heroes. I urge everyone, tradesperson or not, to visit the website and cast your vote to support a community champion in your area!”

Alison Coleman, marketing manager, added: “In recent years, we’ve seen an increase in our staff taking up charity and community challenges to raise money. So, Community Champions is our way of acknowledging the efforts of our staff and rewarding local good causes close to our trade stores.”

You can find out more about the campaign at community.magnettrade.co.uk.  Please help to spread the word by posting and sharing on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag ‘#MTCommunityChamps’.
