It’s a charity that is close to many people’s heart and the reason ILS Fiduciaries (IOM) Limited has voted Hospice Isle of Man its Charity of the Year.
The Manx registered charity, which was nominated by staff from the leading international fiduciary services provider headquartered in Douglas, will receive a donation of ?2,000, which is raised throughout 2015 through dress down days, with the amount then matched by the Company.
Hospice Isle of Man was set up 31 years ago and provides specialist palliative services for patients and their families facing life limiting illness. The care, provided by a multidisciplinary team free of charge, includes inpatient facilities, respite care, therapeutic day care, specialist nurses, social workers, counselling, a range of therapies and hospice at home services.
ILS Senior Company Administrator Karen Finan’s grandma received treatment from the charity. Karen said: “How Hospice Isle of Man looks after your loved ones when they are ill is amazing. They also support you as a family.
“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank them enough for the care they gave to my Grandma when she was ill. People who have experienced the love and support they provide will understand what I mean and, for those who haven’t I hope they never have to, but if they do they know their loved one will be in good hands and receive the help needed at a difficult and sad time.”
Chief Executive Officer of The ILS Group Chris Eaton said: “Hospice is a charity which has touched the lives of the ILS Isle of Man team in many ways and we are proud to nominate it as our Charity of the Year, and in turn show our support and raise awareness for both an amazing and worthwhile cause. We look forward to supporting them over the coming year.”
Mary Doyle, Head of Income Generation, was delighted to learn that ILS will be raising funds and working with Hospice Isle of Man for 2015. She said: “We could not survive without the terrific support of local businesses and very much look forward to working with the team at ILS for this year. I would like to thank them in anticipation of what will be a great partnership of corporate social responsibility – we will be raising funds and having fun – what could be better!”
