Navy ship visits Island

by isleofman.com 25th March 2015

A Royal Navy vessel will arrive in Douglas this morning.

HMS Tyne - a River Class Offshore Patrol Vessel - will spend four days here, mostly to allow for a crew change.

She won't be open to the public, but her Commanding Officer Lieutenant Commander Charles Barrow will host local interest groups on board.

These will include Sea Cadets from the Isle of Man Man T.S. Manxman unit and members of the Combined Cadet Force based at King William's College.

On Wednesday HMS Tyne is also hosting members of the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service.
