Microgaming has donated ?1,573 to Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.                   

Through Microgaming PlayItForward, Microgaming aims to support local charities whose work falls outside the scope of the Microgaming Health & Care Trust. This could be via sponsorship of events, volunteer work or donations. In 2014, Microgaming’s support included the Manx Cancer Help Golf Day, Festival of Trees, ManxSPCA Forget Me Not Garden and Gift of Giving initiative.

On top of these timetabled charity events, MGS House (Microgaming and Derivco Isle of Man’s office) collected money throughout the year from various initiatives and internal staff fundraisers. Funds were raised through the sale of office furniture and PCs to staff, as well as hosting a ‘wear a football shirt to work day’ for the 2014 World Cup and an internal Pub Quiz. The total amount collected was ?1,573, all of which has been donated to local charity, Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.

Claire Coleman, Head of Microgaming PlayItForward, explained: “Rather than letting old office furniture or computer monitors go to waste, we’ll provide employees with the opportunity to utilise these at home, and we ask for a charity donation in return.

Furthermore, throughout the year we host several internal events and take part in sports where fundraising is applicable.

We’re delighted to be able to donate the monies raised to Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation; they are a very active charity within the community, providing vital heart screening services to the public.”

Paul Healey, Chairman for Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation, added: “We are incredibly grateful to Microgaming for their kind donation. This donation will help towards our next batch of defibrillators, which we intend to donate to local clubs and offices.
