Today a jury will hear more about the interviews between police and an accused murderer in the trial of a Castletown man.

Forty-six-year-old Ian Anderson denies murdering 60-year-old Neil Roberts from Ballabeg.


Mr Roberts's body was found by police at Mr and Mrs Anderson's house in Queen Street, Castletown, in late 2013.

Yesterday, Detective Constable Nick Haxby was called to the witness box by the prosecution.

The jury heard DC Haxby read his part as the interviewer while Linda Watts, prosecuting, read the part of Mr Anderson.

Mr Anderson described the sequence of events on the evening of November 29th and early hours of December 1st, when the alleged murder took place.

Deemster Montgomerie heard Mr Anderson explain Mr Roberts had attacked him in three separate onslaughts at his Castletown home.

Mr Anderson said the attacks followed him asking Mr Roberts to leave at least seven times and he consequently threatened to call the police.

Jurors heard Mr Anderson had said he was "fighting for his life".

DC Haxby is to return to the witness box this morning, to finish reading the transcripts at Douglas Courthouse from 10 o'clock.
