LegCo reform back up for discussion in Keys

by isleofman.com 24th March 2015

There's a relatively short question paper for today's House of Keys sitting, with just ten for oral answer.

West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas has five for Treasury Minister Eddie Teare.

These include questions on his department's collection of rates, money used from the National Insurance Fund, and an expected increase in resident income tax receipts.

John Houghton has a couple for Mr Teare also, on reviewing the decision to stop free TV licences for the over-75s, and the Manx Pension Supplement.

And Kate Beecroft will ask Mr Teare about checking on the Sefton Group's ability to pay suppliers and staff.

There are also 35 questions for written answer, on a wide range of matters.

Away from the questions, Peter Karran's Legislative Council Reform Bill has its second reading, the Income Tax Bill 2015 its third reading.

And the Representation of the People (Amendment) Bill is at the clauses stage.

You can hear live coverage of House of Keys questions from 10am on AM1368, online at manxradio.com and via the Manx Radio iPhone and Android apps.
