The funeral of a popular teacher will be held in the south of the Island this afternoon (Tuesday).
Arthur Looney taught predominantly at the Buchan and, for a short time, at King William’s College.
Described as a ‘hero teacher’ and ‘someone who made science fun’, his death at the age of 78 has prompted numerous tributes on a Facebook page dedicated to former Buchan and College pupils.
The service at Arbory Parish Church is at one o’clock.
