Today, the jury has been read the transcripts of interviews between police and a Castletown man accused of murder.
Forty-six-year-old Ian Anderson is pleading not guilty to the murder of 60-year-old Ballabeg man, Neil Roberts.
Mr Roberts's body was found by police in Mr and Mrs Anderson's house in Castletown in late 2013.
The prosecution called Detective Constable Nick Haxby to the witness box at Douglas Courthouse this afternoon.
The jury was given copies of the transcripts.
DC Haxby read his own part as the interviewer and Linda Watts, prosecuting, read the part of Mr Anderson.
Mr Anderson recalled the events on the night of the alleged murder, saying Mr Roberts attacked him three separate times, and he was acting in self defence.
The interviews reveal Mr Anderson saying "I was fighting for my life" and he punched and kicked Mr Roberts to keep him from attacking him.
The trial continues on Tuesday from 10am.
