Ramsey Town Commissioners have expressed their sympathy after learning of the death of Professor Charles Cain, a former chairman and board member, who died on Thursday March 19th .

Chairman Captain Nigel Malpass said: ‘It was with great sadness that I received the news Professor Cain had passed away. A prominent member of Ramsey’s business community, Charles Cain was first elected to the board in December 1976. He was an active long-serving member who sat on many committees where his wise counsel and expertise were greatly appreciated. Additionally, for the 1979-1980 municipal year, he served as chairman of the board, a role to which he not only brought his customary diligence and commitment, but also his abiding pride in Ramsey, qualities that also distinguished his career as a Member of the House of Keys.

‘Professor Cain will be greatly missed and on behalf of Ramsey Town Commissioners I extend my deepest sympathy to his family at this sad time.’
