Nurses asked to participate in learning needs survey

by isleofman.com 23rd March 2015
All registered nurses who are currently practicing in the Isle of Man are encouraged to participate in a survey launched at the beginning of March by the Island’s Respiratory Service.

The Respiratory Service is leading a learning needs assessment survey, which asks nurses across the Island in all healthcare settings to consider their educational and professional development needs in relation to the care of patients with lung conditions.

Patients with lung conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and lung fibrosis often require complex diagnosis and care.

Deborah Corrin, the Island’s Respiratory Nurse Specialist explained: “Where nursing staff are involved in any form of care in patients with lung conditions, it is important to have the right balance of skills, knowledge and practice.

“The survey aims to gather information from nurses caring for patients with any lung condition, about this balance with a view to building a tailor-made educational programme to enhance patient care. I urge all practicing registered nurses on the Island to take part in the survey.”

The survey is completely anonymous and closes on 29 March 2015 at midnight.

If any nurse would like to participate on the survey but has not yet received any information by email either direct or via your workplace, please contact the Island’s Respiratory Nurse Specialist by email on deborah.corrin@gov.im or by telephone on 650059.
