Bacchas A all but there

by isleofman.com 21st March 2015
Bacchas A are all but Premier League champions again.

That’s after they maintained their 100 per cent record in the PWC Men’s Premier League with a 20-1 demolition of bottom club Saracens.

All this after Saracens had taken a surprise lead.

The victory means arch rivals Valkrys A – who have had a terrific season themselves – would have to defeat Bacchas by 15 goals in their end of season clash next weekend.

They continued to do their bit with an impressive 9-0 thrashing of Valkyrs B to stay just two points off the pace.

But the goal difference looks key with one match to go.

Bacchas’ Tom Wilson hit 10 goals to confirm his place as the division’s leading marksman.

Johny Callow hit four, Jamie Brown a hat-trick, Tony Bentley-Roberts two and Andrew Vernon-Browne one in the annihilation.

Andrew Winstanley scored for Saracens.

Valkyrs A were also on fire in front of goal against Bacchas B with hat-tricks from Gareth Morris and Greg Miller, two from Ollie Webster and one from Chris Killey.

Tom Burrows and Steven Crowe hit two each as Vikings A saw off Ramsey A 4-1.

Castletown A are back in the top flight at the first attempt.

A 2-2 draw with title rivals Harlequins A was enough for them to clinch the PWC Men’s Division One title.

In the women’s top flight, champions Vikings A maintained their perfect record with a 6-0 demolition of Valkyrs A, courtesy of a Kim Carney hat-trick, a Dani Coombes double and Megan Roberts.

Bacchas A beat Valkyrs B by the same scoreline – a treble from Helen Thomas led the way and she was joined on the scoresheet by Sosie Cox, Abbey Magee and skipper Emma Leeming.

Alex Callow and Ellie Burton grabbed the goals as Ramsey A defeated Castletown A 2-1.

Danielle Kelly was their scorer.
