Vagabonds lost 46-20 to second place Tyldesley in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two.
The visitors took an early lead with tries from Martin Wallbank and Mark Dickinson.
Sam Liver and James Clark both crossed for Vagas, however, and with the score at 12-12 after 20 minutes, a real contest was in prospect.
Tyldesley had other thoughts and scores from Carl Redford, Paul Martin and Connor Johnson pushed the clear with Stevie Gawne picking up Vagas’ third try to leave it 29-17 at the interval.
In the second half, Zack Sargent and Peter Hayes both scored for Tyldesley before Wallbank picked up his second.
Aidan O’Shea added a penalty for Vagas.
