At last some news on a former club junior Aswin Lizen (18) who is treading the professional tennis circuit. Aswin has been based in Barcelona but “Has racquet – will travel” and this he is doing with some success. He now has 3 ATP singles points and 10 doubles points, which is some achievement. He has just returned to Spain after playing in 4 tournaments in Tunisia where he qualified for main draw in 3 of the events, - one he lost4/6 4/6 to the No 1 seed who is world ranked at 250. He also made the q/finals of doubles in 2 events with his partner Melik Feler (France). He is off to a tournament in Madrid and this will be followed by 3 weeks in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. In his own words “I am very busy but playing well so hopefully the results will come soon”. I’m sure everyone who remembers Aswin will wish him well and I look forward to further e-mails with results in a few weeks.
