Major fraud investigation continues

Police investigating multiple fraud and money laundering offences say their searches are continuing overnight and into tomorrow.


Today, officers from the financial investigation team raided premises in Hill Street, Douglas and Manor Park, Onchan in a joint operation with UK HMRC and Guernsey and Cheshire police forces.


In total, 13 search warrants have been executed and seven people arrested across the UK, Guernsey and the Isle of Man in relation to an alleged ?21million VAT and money laundering fraud.


Inspector Derek Flint said this evening: 'A number of these searches are still ongoing, taking considerable time to complete.
'Significant amounts of cash and business records have been seized and will be subject of further investigation.'
