Transport chiefs say the Mountain Road will have to close for a week in April for essential works ahead of the TT festival.
A 24 hour a day road closure from the Creg-ny-Baa to Ramsey Hairpin takes effect at 8am on Monday April 6. The road is due to re-open at 6pm on Sunday April 12 but will open earlier if the works are completed.
Improvements will include resurfacing and re-profiling on the Keppel Gate section of the mountain circuit.
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne said: 'Work on the Mountain Road not only supports the safe and successful running of the TT Races, it also provides year-round improvements for Manx motorists. I would like to thank people in advance for their patience and cooperation while this scheme takes place.'
