CCTV footage and a 999 call were played to the jury on Tuesday at the murder trial of a Castletown man.
Forty-six-year-old Ian Anderson denies murdering 60-year-old Ballabeg man Neil Roberts in December 2013.
Mr Roberts's body was found by police at Mr Anderson's home, which he shared with his wife, in Queen Street, Castletown.
The prosecution brought forward its first admissions today, reading a number of witness statements and calling on its first witness.
This afternoon jurors watched CCTV footage of Mr Anderson and Mr Roberts together on the night of the incident at the Bay Hotel in Port Erin.
It appeared to show Mr Roberts acting affectionately and the two are seen hugging at the bar and leaving together.
Jurors also heard the 999 call made by Ian Anderson later that night.
In the recording he said he had been attacked in his own house, added it was not an emergency, but said they did need an ambulance.
Mrs Anderson is heard in the background.
The prosecution also called its first witness, PC Mark Langley, who was first on the scene and was joined by PC Andrew Tomlinson shortly afterwards.
PC Langley performed emergency CPR and told PC Tomlinson to arrest Ian Anderson.
The trial continues on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, when PC Tomlinson is scheduled to appear as the second live witness.
