Manx Telecom is sponsoring TT star Conor Cummins for the fourth successive season. The ‘Ramsey Rocket’, who holds the TT Mountain Course lap record from a standing start and is the fastest Manxman ever to race the legendary 37.75 mile circuit, is aiming to build on his 2014 debut year with Honda Racing, and returns for a second season alongside 21 time TT winner John McGuinness.
They will contest the RST Superbike and PokerStars Senior races at the Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy, and the Superbike races at the North West 200, aboard the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP. Conor had a great 2014 season securing a brace of podium finishes at the North West 200 and the TT, including second place in the PokerStars Senior race.
To celebrate the sponsorship deal with the Island’s leading communications company, Conor will make a personal appearance at the Manx Telecom store to launch its 2015 TT campaign, meet fans and sign autographs. During TT race week Conor will also be the star guest at an exclusive VIP chat show hosted by Manx Telecom for their business clients.
Fans will see Conor wearing the Manx Telecom logo on his racing leathers and it will also appear on his official website www.conorcummins.com which will be updated with all the latest news, photos and features throughout the season. To help keep his fans informed, the company has also provided Conor with an iPhone, iPad and data roaming bolt-ons so he can post updates to his website and Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts from any of his national and international race meetings during the 2015 season.
Conor said:
“Being a local rider sponsored by a local company is a perfect combination for me, so I’ve always appreciated the commitment and loyalty from Manx Telecom over the past four seasons. I’m really looking forward to a second season with Honda Racing, and to building on a great 2014.”
Conor’s racing success, and in particular his courageous and inspiring return to the sport following a serious crash in the 2010 Senior TT, have won him fans around the world and made him one of the Island’s most popular sportsmen.
David Smith, Manx Telecom Marketing Director, said:
“Conor has always been a fantastic ambassador for us and we’re delighted to sponsor him again this year. He represents all that is great about the TT, and the fact that he is a local rider means there is even more reason for us to support his racing ambitions. This is the fourth year we have sponsored Conor, which is fitting as our 4G superfast mobile service grows ever more popular. And with Mark Cavendish MBE as our 4G Ambassador it means that Manx Telecom is now endorsed by the two fastest Manxmen on two wheels! We wish Conor every success.”
More Conor-themed events and competitions are being planned by Manx Telecom in the weeks and months ahead – keep an eye on the company’s Facebook and Twitter feeds for more details.
