Islanders will soon have more money to spend.
Tynwald this morning authorised Treasury to issue up to ?110 million worth of new Manx currency.
This will be made up of ?90 million in notes and ?20 million in coins.
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says there has been a continual increase in the number of Manx notes and coins in circulation over recent years and before long the current maximum face value of ?85 million won't be sufficient for the Island's needs.
