John Nugent, Managing Director of Equiom Solutions Limited, the tax division of the Equiom Group, is to leave his position with the company to concentrate solely on his work with one of the firm’s longstanding clients, the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation.
For many years, Mr Nugent has worked closely with Albert Gubay to establish and advise on his substantial charitable arrangements. The Foundation now requires all of Mr Nugent’s time and Equiom has agreed to release Mr Nugent to allow him to concentrate on this important charitable work.
Sheila Dean, Group Managing Director for Equiom said: “We are obviously very sorry to lose John, but his work with Mr Gubay and the charity is extremely worthwhile and I felt it was right for Equiom to put aside its own needs and allow John to concentrate full time on this fantastic community project.”
The recent expansion of Equiom Group, including three acquisitions during the last three months, means that John’s expertise is still required to assist with the reorganisation of Equiom Solutions and accordingly he will leave this summer. However, John will retain a strong connection with Equiom in a consultancy capacity. On his future move, John said: “It was a difficult decision for me to leave Equiom, especially at this time of expansion for the Group. I will of course continue to have a close relationship with the business and very much appreciate the support that Sheila and the team have given me with regard to my relocation”.
The first stage in this reorganisation is the naming of John’s successor to lead Equiom Solutions. The Group is delighted to announce that Helen Woods will be taking over this role. Helen is currently a Director of Equiom Solutions and has worked with John for over twenty years. She has worked in the tax industry for over twenty five years, building a wealth of experience and contacts.
On her appointment, Helen commented: “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity at what is an extremely exciting time of expansion for Equiom Group and I look forward to continuing the development of Equiom Solutions”.
Sheila Dean added: “Helen is a very well known and respected figure within the local business community and was an obvious choice to replace John as Managing Director of Equiom Solutions. Her drive, determination and professionalism will, I am sure, help us develop our tax services business even further.”
