Island house builder Hartford Homes has made a ?500 donation to the Anaphylaxis Campaign, which aims to improve the lives of people with severe allergies.
Hartford Homes director James Greenhalgh has a three year old son who is severely allergic to multiple foods.
He paid tribute to the support and information provided by the charity after his son's condition was diagnosed.
Mr Greenhalgh said: "We want to support the charity for the great work it does in helping individuals and carers of people with this frightening condition."
The Island branch of the UK-wide organisation aims to create safe environments for people with allergies, through education campaigns targeted at the food industry and health professionals, as well as nurseries, schools and colleges.
Anaphylaxis Campaign says it focuses on presenting medical facts, and works towards accurate food labelling, risk reduction and allergen management.
