Unicameral body the way ahead says MLC candidate

by isleofman.com 13th March 2015
One of the candidates in next week’s Legislative Council election has outlined the way he would restructure the Manx parliament.

Phil Braidwood, an East Douglas MHK for 15 years before being elected to the upper house in 2010, is one of six vying for four available seats.

He believes the upper chamber has an important job of scrutiny.

But he repeated his proposal the Island would be well served by a system of government comprising a single legislative chamber.

The others are MHKs David Cretney, Bill Henderson, David Anderson and advocates Paul Beckett and Christopher Kinley.
