Mark Holligon, a Partner at Appleby (Isle of Man) LLC, will attend a top European conference examining international fraud.
The 28th Forum on Fraud, Asset Tracing and Recovery is being held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 19 and 20 March.
Mark, a Partner in the Dispute Resolution department in Appleby’s Isle of Man office, will be accompanied by Anthony Williams, Advocate and Counsel from the firm’s Guernsey office.
The Forum is regarded as one of Europe's leading legal conferences on civil fraud investigations, litigation and asset recovery.
Discussion will cover a broad range of subjects set against a backdrop of increasingly complex global fraud schemes and the growing need for legal expertise in the latest strategies and techniques used to identify and seize assets.
Organised by London-based C5, the Forum will be attended by an international audience comprised of experienced practitioners in the dispute resolution field.
Mark, who was identified as an “outstanding” practitioner in the international asset recovery sector by Who’s Who Legal 100 2014 edition, said: ‘This Forum will be a valuable opportunity to meet other practitioners in this field and discuss with them the latest developments in fraud investigation and asset recovery, including effective tactics and strategies being employed around the world.
‘The Forum will cover an extremely broad range of topics, including decision-making skills in fraud litigation, trade sanctions enforcement, managing parallel civil and criminal proceedings, investigating fraud and recovering assets and the issues surrounding multi-jurisdictional fraud and corruption cases.’
