Prevention and early detection key to new Strategy for Children

Tynwald approval will be sought next week for the new Strategy for Children and Young People.
It aims to shake up the way government and the various agencies which work with it deal with people up to the age of 18 in the Isle of Man.
The strategy is the result of an investigation carried out by the Scottish Care Inspectorate in 2013, which was at times critical of the services here.
Lead officer at Children's Services is Gary McManus.
He says the central themes of the whole strategy are prevention and early intervention:
