Thirteen bids to run TT

by isleofman.com 11th March 2015

The Department of Economic Development says it has had a positive response to its appeal for an independent promotor to manage and commercialise the TT races and develop an Isle of Man TT World Series.

The first stage of the bidding process closed at the end of February and 13 organisations have registered an interest. They now have until April 10 to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire before the DED selects bidders to the preliminary tender stage of the process.

Director at The sports Consultancy, which is managing the process, Matt Wilson said: 'This is a positive response to the first stage and we have a number of credible candidates interested in the role who have demonstrable track records of expertise in the areas that we are looking for.'

The DED says there has also been interest from a number of international venues and locations who have declared an interest in hosting a TT series event.
