The performance of the Island's new ?400,000 diesel locomotive has been defended by the Infrastructure Minister.
Bought by the now defunct Department of Community, Culture and Leisure, the train arrived on the Island 15 months ago.
In the House of Keys on Tuesday, Phil Gawne said the business case for the purchase highlighted the importance of the heritage railway and benefit to the Island's economy.
And he admitted it had encountered difficulties, including occasional breakdowns and unexpected boiler failures.
But he claimed it had been reliable and used for many tasks - including operating the fire train, running special rail services and helping run the steam train service when defects occured.
Mr Gawne also dismissed suggestings from Onchan MHK Peter Karran that it had been a 'disastrous purchase' as it was still under warranty, with investigations into a contaminated fuel supply ongoing:Clip 1
