Ramsey B through to Plate Final; last-gasp Nomads

by isleofman.com 7th March 2015
Ramsey B beat Western Vikings 50-7 to secure a spot in their second end-of-season final.
Ramsey led 26-7 at half-time with tries from Chris King (two), Ben Harding and Matt Livesey.
In the second half, Livesey grabbed two more to complete his hat-trick, Harding picked up his second and Kyle Kenyon bashed over to one to celebrate his return from a year out.
Harding converted two to add to the three he kicked in the first half and he finished the day with a 20 point personal haul.
Best wishes to Western Vikings’ Ryan Burke who was taken to hospital with a suspected broken collar bone.
Southern Nomads’ domestic unbeaten record was nearly taken by a gutsy Vagabonds B side who led for much of the match before succumbing to a 26-24 defeat in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy.
Tries from Mark Howarth, Cameron Howard and Tom Gascoyne, plus three conversions and a penalty from Mark McGreal, shot Vagas into a 24-7 interval lead.
A Gerard Landels try, converted by Adam Boyd, kept Nomads in the hunt before it was their turn to use the strong wind to their advantage after the break.
Landels picked up his second to claw his side further back into the game.
Boyd’s try and conversion then brought Nomads to within three points before Boyd’s second try in stoppage time secured victory and Nomads’ place in the Manx Trophy Final on April 18.
