Manx Telecom has been helping Ramsey residents, college students and staff to get on the Island’s fastest mobile network. Manx Telecom 4G pop-up shops were recently set up at Raymotors car showroom and the Isle of Man College of Further and Higher Education offering advice on how to switch to 4G, providing free 4G super-SIM cards, and free ?5 ‘Surfer’ top-up vouchers.
Andrew Honour, Commercial Manager at Manx Telecom, said that the pop-up shops had proved to be really popular, particularly amongst college students, and was designed to make it even easier for pay as you go customers to switch to 4G.
For anyone not on the 4G network already, you can check whether your handset and SIM card are 4G compatible by entering your mobile number at www.manxtelecom.com/4g – the website will then tell you the next steps you may need to take to get 4G.

Manx Telecom launched the Island’s first 4G network in July last year, and it is now available to pay monthly and pay as you go customers with 99% population coverage. 4G on the Manx Telecom network provides speeds which on average are up to 10 times faster than 3G.
