On the 24th February two Woodland Trust volunteers assisted by the Milntown garden team planted around sixty trees and shrubs in the Milntown grounds. These trees and shrubs were all grown and supplied by the Woodland Trust and are mostly native to the island. The plants, including Viburnum, Euonymus, Betula, Populus, Oak and Alder should ensure a rich mix of trees and shrubs are continuing to grow and will eventually take over from the mature trees which will inevitably be lost as the years progress.
Milntown would like to thank the Isle of Man Woodland Trust and especially Vivienne Barnett and Graham Lamb-Shine for their help and support in this project.
The Milntown gardens are now open daily (except Tuesdays) from 10am – 5pm.
