In Rugby, Ramsey beat a spirited Oldershaw side 55-5 at the Mooragh Park to keep their nine point lead at the top of South Lancs/Cheshire Division 3. There were two tries apiece for Matty Clague, Andy Cleator, Mikey Craine and Fintan Cummins with Peter Richardson crossing for one. Scott Kneale kicked five conversions. Sirus Wickham picked up a well deserved consolation try for Oldershaw.
Playing the top two sides in South Lancs/Cheshire Division 1 back to back was never going to be easy, and despite a solid performance, Douglas were outgunned 41-18 at Liverpool St Helens. Douglas tries came from Bryn Snellgrove and Ben Webb with the remaining points coming from Snellgrove’s boot as he added a conversion and two penalties.
Missing a swathe of players attending a stag trip, Vagas suffered as visitors Moore came out 46-24 winners at a wet and windy Ballafletcher in Division Two. They did however pick up a try bonus point with their scores coming from Bryan Kennaugh, Tom Gascoyne, Ryan Pope and a penalty try.
Western Vikings are through to the Manx Bowl final. It was a game of two halves at a blustery QE2 School. Western Vikings led 14-0 at half time with tries from Joe Whitelegg and Jonathan Crellin and two conversions from Ryan Burke. With the wind advantage in the second half Ramsey B went one better. Ben Harding scored all their points, his haul included two tries a penalty and a conversion as Ramsey sneaked the game 15-14 and booked their spot in the Manx Bowl final against Emerging Nomads on 18 April.
