Chance to meet Ramsey Postal Co-operative group

by isleofman.com 28th February 2015
There's a chance to meet the team who are putting together an alternative community proposal for the future of postal services in Ramsey this afternoon.
A Coffee afternoon is being held at Waterloo Road Methodist Church between 2 to 4pm.
Spokesman Nigel Malpass says they felt the team working on the business plan felt that now would be a good time to 'open the doors' so that the public can have an informal meeting to discuss progress.
However, he adds that there are issues which are confidential which they cannot discuss.
Ramsey Postal Co-operative group, made up postal workers, individual Ramsey Commissioners and local professionals, have also put together a public survey to help their business proposal.
Paper copies will be available at the coffee afternoon, and an online version is on the Save Ramsey Post Office Facebook page.
The group aims to put forward a plan which retains the Counter Services Operation in the Old Court House, meets the expectations of the vast majority of Counter Services customers in Ramsey and its surrounding areas and provides current Counter Services staff with the opportunity to keep their jobs working in a Ramsey based sub Post Office environment.
Ramsey Postal Co-operative’s Business Plan will be presented to the Post Office Board by March 31st.
The decision will be made public on April 16th.
