Microgaming has made a donation to four different charities as part of its gift of giving initiative.
In 2013, Microgaming introduced a gift donation initiative; in lieu of Christmas gifts, the company decided to share the gift of giving. Clients and close business contacts were asked to vote for their chosen charity out of four world regions (Africa, Asia, Australia and the Rest of the World). The charity with the most votes from each region would receive a gift donation on their behalf. The four charities to receive donations were Chiva, WWF, Cure Cancer Australia Foundation and the British Red Cross.
After much success in its inaugural year, the initiative was repeated in December 2014. Votes have been counted and the charities to receive a gift donation are Medecins Sans Frontieres (Africa), Change Heroes (Asia), White Ribbon (Australia) and Hospice Isle of Man (Rest of the World). Each charity will receive a Microgaming gift of ?7,500.
Claire Coleman, Head of Microgaming PlayItForward, explains: “We all know Christmas is a time for giving, and what better way to recognise this than with our gift of giving initiative. A big thanks to our customers for supporting this for the second year running and making their vote count, and congratulations to 2014’s winning charities.”
Mary Doyle, Head of Income Generation, Hospice Isle of Man, comments: “What a fabulous idea! We have worked with Microgaming for a number of years; their terrific support is always very much appreciated. This amazing donation will make a real difference to our charity – this amount equates to just under a month’s care in our In-Patient unit, so thank you to everyone that voted for Hospice Isle of Man. Being chosen as the charity of choice among Microgaming’s global clientele shows the Hospice movement is internationally recognised as having an impact worldwide. To receive this donation along with such fabulous charities is very gratifying – thank you.”
