A woman who witnessed a shoplifting incident in WH Smith today is being asked to contact the police.

A man stole several Blu-ray discs from the Strand Street, Douglas, store at about 1pm.

A police spokesman said: 'A lady wearing a brown coat witnessed the man stealing these items and kindly reported it to the store staff. Police are appealing for this lady to please make contact so that the matter can be further discussed with her.'
