by isleofman.com 24th February 2015

Bryan Robson and Norman Whiteside are to address the Sporting & Dining Club - an event not to be missed whoever you support.

Hear previously untold stories from Bryan and Norman. Hear what it was like at United before and after Fergie arrived. How did Fergie react to the culture at United when he first arrived and what was it like for the players who fell foul of Fergie?

Also hear of Bryan’s brilliant England Career, his constant battle with injuries and also his special relationship’s with Gazza, Sir Bobby Robson and of course the gaffer Sir Alex Ferguson.

You will hear about Norman’s outstanding career at United and Northern Ireland before it was tragically cut short due to injuries. Hear of the legendary social occasions that the players shared before Fergie arrived!!! It is easy to forget that Norman still holds records as the youngest player to take part in a World Cup; he is the youngest player to score in a League Cup and FA Cup final, and also the youngest player to score a senior goal for Manchester United. Lots of past footballers say that but for injuries Norman would have undoubtedly become a superstar in world football. Norman’s story is a must for all United fans.

The compere is the wonderfully talented Billy Bean, a former corporate host at Old Trafford.

John Wannenburgh of the IoM Sporting and Dining Club: “Further to our sell out lunch with Kenny Dalglish, we felt it only fair to provide something for other club supporters! Bryan and Norman are Manchester United Legends and we are really pleased to be able to present them on the Isle of Man”.

Adrian Higgins, Director of Specsavers Opticians Isle of Man said:  ‘Specsavers is once again delighted to be supporting this ‘Sporting & Dining Club’ event. These two footballers not only have an excellent club pedigree, but both have represented their countries at the highest level. We are all looking forward to another excellent event".
