U3A to put forward case for older generation

by isleofman.com 23rd February 2015
The positive contributions made to Manx society by people over the age of 65 will be highlighted at a public meeting tonight.
Organised by the Positive Action Group, the meeting, entitled 'Not Old But Gold' is being promoted as a counter to what PAG says is ministers' repeated talk of the threat an ageing population poses to welfare, pensions and healthcare.
Dr John Wardle is from the University of the Third Age, which promotes and encourages learning in later life.
He says the case he is going to put forward tonight will be based on evidence gathered from both here and in the UK:Clip 1
