by isleofman.com 23rd February 2015

Manx Blind Welfare Society is under starter’s orders for its latest fundraising event – A Night at the Races.

On 20th March the charity will host the fun evening at its Corrin Court headquarters in Onchan.

Open to individuals and teams, the night will feature eight horse races, and in each race you can try and choose the winner for just ?1. Admission to the night is just ?3, which includes a light buffet. The races can be sponsored for ?10 and in return sponsors will receive a bottle of wine for their table.

All money raised on the evening will help support the Society’s work with blind and visually impaired people in the Island.

Manx Blind Welfare Society Volunteers Coordinator & Events Organisers Debbie Thomson said: ‘We’re delighted to announce the return of A Night at the Races, which proved so much fun and such a great fundraising success in past years.

‘It should be great fun, with laughter and excitement, and we hope it will be well supported.

‘Individuals and teams are invited, and the entry price includes a light buffet. Guests are welcome to bring their own drinks if they wish.

‘We provide free services and support to blind and visually impaired across the Island, and rely on donations, fundraising and bequests to continue this vital work, so events like A Night at the Races are really important.’
