Canonical announces new partnership

Manx-based Canonical Software has signed a new partnership which could see it at the centre of the Internet of Things.
The company says tech giants Microsoft and Amazon have now both agreed to publish their application programming interfaces on Ubuntu Core.
Ubuntu Core is a lightweight version of the Linux operating system which Canonical says is ideal for devices.
Microsoft signed up last week – and the company has already enlisted the support of Deutsche Telekom Texas Instruments and the Industrial Internet Consortium
