by isleofman.com 21st February 2015
Colby are through to the semi-finals of the Paddy Power FA Cup.
That’s after a surprise 1-0 victory over top flight Ramsey on Saturday.
Brett Alcotte was the hero for the Second Division southerners with a free-kick to book their place in the last four.
There was no sniff of a shock at the Bowl as St Mary’s hammered Malew, the other remaining Division Two side in the competition, 10-0.
Player-manager Steven Priestnal (two), brother Marc Priestnal (three), Stuart Pacey, Dominic McGreevey, Ste Whitley, Connor Birch and Josh Thomas were all on target in the romp.
Peel won the tie of the round.
A goal in each half from Adam Cregeen and Ashley Webster fired them to a 2-0 success over Old Boys to gain some revenge for their Railway Cup semi-final defeat at their opponents earlier in the season.
Holders St George’s sealed their slot with a 4-1 home victory over Corinthians.
Connor Doyle was the hero with a hat-trick with Jack McVeigh netting the other.
Danny Oram grabbed the consolation for the visitors.
