Firm's sports kit boost for school

by isleofman.com 19th February 2015
Scottish Widows has added a sporting dimension to its ongoing corporate support for young people in the Island.
The company has sponsored new sports kit for the Henry Bloom Noble primary school in Douglas.
In recent years Scottish Widows has sponsored Peel Golf Club's junior tournament and the summer reading scheme at Henry Bloom Noble library.
Its staff also volunteer to take part in a Book Buddies scheme, offering one-to-one sessions in primary schools to help pupils improve their reading skills.
Scottish Widows managing director Juan Clarke says the firm is committed to encouraging personal achievement among the young.
He said: "‘So it was against this background that we were pleased to sponsor the new kit for what will soon be a new school. Sport’s all about teamwork and that’s very much at the heart of Scottish Widows.
"Now, in whatever sport they play the pupils will look the part, too and I am sure they will be great ambassadors both on and off the field for the Henry Bloom Noble Primary School."
