Appeal after damage to play park

by isleofman.com 16th February 2015
Police are appealing for information regarding damage caused to a childrens’ play park in Onchan.

Between 5pm on Monday 9th February and 8am on Tuesday 10th February 2015 a metal walkway on a piece of play equipment in the small childrens’ play area in Onchan Park was damaged.

Constable 250 Dave Thommeny said:

“It appears someone has purposely jumped on the walkway causing it to break. This is the second time in 6 months where malicious damage has been caused to the play park equipment. The cost of replacing this walkway will be between ?600 and ?800. This is large amount for Onchan Commissioners to pay out, especially when the money could be used for other improvements within the town. It also inconveniences the children who have been unable to use this equipment during the school holiday period.”

If anyone witnessed the damage being caused or knows who is responsible please contact Constable Thommeny at Lord Street Police Station on 631212.
