Corinthians fightback sees off champions

by isleofman.com 16th February 2015
Corinthians produced a spirited fightback to reach the semi finals of the Warehouse Fitness FA Cup.
They came from behind to defeat arch rivals and Ballafletcher neighbours Douglas Royal 6-2 after extra-time on Sunday.
Royal looked on course to reach the last four after goals from Stephanie Hoogveld and Angela Waite put them 2-0 up.
Leonie Roberts pulled a goal back with 10 minutes remaining and after Kiera Morgan’s late leveller forced an additional 30 minutes, Corinthians took control.
Roberts and Morgan then doubled their tallies and Melissa Bell and Lisa Costain joined them on the scoresheet.
It is the first time Douglas Royal have failed to reach the semi final stage of the competition.
