Tromode venue hopes for offender rehab centre

by isleofman.com 15th February 2015
Plans have been unveiled for a new offender rehabilitation centre at Cronkbourne Village in Tromode.
The Department of Home Affairs is seeking planning permission to convert Tromode House - which until recently has been run as a children's home.
As well as housing the prisoner resettlement service, the centre would become the new home of the Island's Probation Service - currently based in central Douglas.
If planning is granted, the bail hostel would also move to Tromode from David Gray House in the capital.
Chief executive at Home Affairs Mark Kelly says the department wants to improve and extend its services - to offer offenders a more positive future:Clip 1
