Vagabonds B squeezed into the Shimmin Wilson Manx Plate final by the narrowest of margins, defeating Douglas B 18-17 at Port-e-Chee.
An early Mark Shortland penalty followed by a Declan Horrox try, which Shortland also converted, gave Douglas a 10-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Johnny Beckley and Leigh Kennaugh both then crossed for Vagas tries, and with Kennaugh converting one, Vagas led 12-10 at the interval.
Kennaugh added two more penalties in the second half to stretch the visitors’ lead to 18-10.
With just seven minutes of regular time to play, former Vagabond Jack Moore added a try for Douglas.
Shortland converted it set up a grandstand finish but Douglas were unable to break down a stubborn Vagas defence in the remaining time.
