Next step for Ramsey post office co operative

A group hoping to save Ramsey’s Crown post office meets today to discuss a possible business plan for the venture (14 Feb).

Ramsey Postal Co-operative, spearheaded by chairman of Ramsey Commissioners Nigel Malpass, has until the end of next month to come up with viable proposals.

If the collective can't produce plans which meet the Post Office’s approval, services will be relocated to a nearby Spar shop.
A group of volunteers formed after two public meetings in Ramsey met for the first time last weekend, to consider whether by pooling skills and resources, they could mount a bid to retain postal services in the Courthouse building.
The group subsequently declared it was confident a 'sustainable community business model' could be drawn-up and presented to the Post Office board.
Captain Malpass says the latest meeting is only open to those who've signed non-disclosure agreements to protect commercial confidentiality:
