Last month's jump in unemployment in the Island was a seasonal trend - but saw the lowest January jobless figure for four years.
Nine-hundred-and-seventy-three people were registered as unemployed, compared to 1,182 for the same period last year.
That means the unemployment rate is now 2.2%, compared to 2.6% in January 2014.
Although less steep than in recent years, last month's rise meant more people were without a job in January than since April last year.
Latest figures show 70% of the unemployed are men, 30% women.
Nearly half have been registered jobless for three months or less but 20& have been without work for a uear or more.
