?1.3million wanted for care unit

by isleofman.com 12th February 2015

A 10-bedroom facility for adults with learning disabilities will replace out of date accommodation at Radcliffe Villas on Glencrutchery Road, Douglas.

Health Minister Howard Quayle is seeking Tynwald approval this month to spend ?1.3 million to build a new unit on the Leece Lodge site in Braddan. Radcliffe Villas, which the Department of Health and Social Care says does not meet current standards, will be used for respite care only.

Adults who currently live at Radcliffe Villas include people with highly complex needs who are very dependent. The department wants to provide them with dedicated accommodation built to registration standards.
