by isleofman.com 11th February 2015
Yesterday evening, Tuesday 10th February, emergency services inclduing Fire & Rescue, Police and the Ambulance Service were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision at the Bungalow on the Mountain Road. One person was reported trapped inside a Renault which had hit the embankment and rolled onto its side. On the arrival of the Emergency Rescue Vehicle, crews used stabilisation equipment and a hose reel to make the vehicle safe. They then used hydraulic cutting equipment to create the space to allow the casualty to be safely removed from the vehicle into the care of the Ambulance Service.

Fire crews then remained in attendance for a further hour to assist the Police in doing their Accident Investigation by providing lighting and other equipment.

Sub Officer Cowley who was in charge of the incident stated that it was pleasing to see all three Services working together to achieve their goals. He stated that they regularly train together, allowing all three Services to appreciate what each other do, which enhances the service delivered at real incidents.

An update on the condition of the casualty was not given.
